Small Steps
April 14, 2011During this Lent, I am trying to try to live more intensely with Jesus. As each day passes I find myself realising how wrong sometimes we are. I resolve to change many things, try to become a better person. It’s asking too much. I am slowly realising that if I resolve to change many things at once- that results in failure. It is better to try to change small things, and not gauge myself on how much sacrifices and fasting I do. Say for example I can try to read the Bible every day- but not read the Bible every day ,go to Mass every day, fast every day and not watch telly every day! I realised that I have to set more modest and achievable targets, so slowly slowly I can grow and feel that achieved something, even if that something is small. Thank You Jesus.

Lenten Reflection
April 2, 2011Yesterday I heard the last talk of series of Lenten talks. This week was a journey which started with the first talk, going back to a reflection of how much we give space and time to Jesus in our lives every day. Are we too busy in our lives, with our careers, studies, businesses and so many other activities? Do we find time to stop and in silence pray? Have we gone so astray, that we do not even has an interest in our Lord Jesus ? Also the aspects of obedience and humility where mentioned. Have we become proud, intolerant and ashamed to show our beliefs? The sessions came to conclusion with the final message that in order to follow our Lord we need to strip ourselves of all our insecurities, confused beliefs, doubts, anger and instead put all our lives and faith in our Dear Lord Jesus. He is our only salvation. Oh Lord help us become more like You.
A Lenten reflection – My heart
March 17, 2011Yesterday I listened to a particular talk from a series of spiritual talks during this Lent on a local radio station. What do we have in our hearts? Is my heart filled with anger, pain, old hard feelings, remorse or envy? If Jesus had to come and visit our hearts, would he need to operate in any way? Most certainly. How important it is for me to change, to start looking at these areas in my heart which need to be removed. We have to look and change our hearts, so that in it we cultivate love. A love for God, for purity, for goodness, justice, love and giving. This Lenten period gives us a chance to be more attentive at what we take for granted in our lives. It’s a chance to be our own surgeons with the help of the Holy Spirit, to transform our Heart. Do we find a heart
that is of flesh and blood, or heart that has become hard and hollow?
I pray so that God may help me to strive to transform my heart into a more human heart, through his Grace.
A thought on this Lent
March 14, 2011Well, we are already in the first days of Lent. I can say that, it has been already quite a demanding and challenging time. I am finding it difficult to keep up with all my good intentions. And what about the spirit of sacrifice? It’s though, when we feel ready, there is always that extra thing which keeps us from achieving more. I offer my heart to the Lord so that He can show me how to persevere. So all in all, although the will is there, I still can say that there is much more that I need to do.
I need time, silence and need a to slow down things just a bit.
